Ingredients
  

  • 1 sheet frozen puff pastry thawed
  • 1 wheel brie cheese 8-16 ounces
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 tablespoon water
  • 2-3 tablespoons jam honey, or preserves (optional)
  • 2 tablespoons chopped nuts optional
  • Fresh herbs for garnish optional
  • All-purpose flour for dusting

Instructions
 

  • Thaw puff pastry according to package directions. Preheat oven to 375°F. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  • Unfold puff pastry on a lightly floured surface. Roll gently to smooth creases and enlarge slightly.
  • Place brie wheel in center of pastry. Add optional toppings like jam or honey on top of cheese if desired.
  • Fold pastry corners up and over the brie, pleating edges to seal. Press seams together firmly.
  • Flip wrapped brie over so smooth side faces up. Place seam-side down on prepared baking sheet.
  • Beat egg with water. Brush mixture over entire pastry surface.
  • Add decorative pastry shapes if desired. Brush decorations with egg wash.
  • Cut 3-4 small slits in top of pastry for steam vents.
  • Bake 25-30 minutes until deep golden brown.
  • Let rest 5-10 minutes before serving. Serve warm with crackers, bread, and fruit.
