- 4 tablespoons salted butter
Meat Mixture
- 1 pound ground beef
- 1 pound mild Italian sausage
- 1 medium yellow onion diced
Sauce Components
- 28 ounces crushed tomatoes
- 15 ounces tomato sauce
- 2 –3 tablespoons Italian seasoning
- 1 teaspoon minced garlic
- 1 teaspoon salt
- ½ teaspoon black pepper
Cheese Mixture
- 8 ounces cream cheese
- 8 ounces cottage cheese
- 8 ounces sour cream
- 1 cup shredded Parmesan cheese
- 2 teaspoons dried parsley
- ¼ teaspoon salt
Topping
- 2 cups shredded Mozzarella cheese
- 1 teaspoon dried parsley
Cook spaghetti al dente (6–8 minutes), drain, and set aside.
Brown ground beef and sausage in a skillet with diced onion. Break into small pieces while cooking.
Add crushed tomatoes, tomato sauce, garlic, seasoning, salt, and pepper. Simmer for 5 minutes.
In a bowl, mix cream cheese, cottage cheese, sour cream, Parmesan, parsley, and salt.
In a 9x13-inch baking dish, layer as follows:
A light layer of sauce
Half of the cooked spaghetti
Half of the cheese mixture
Half of the meat sauce
Repeat layers
Top with mozzarella and parsley
Bake uncovered for 35–45 minutes until cheese is golden and bubbly.
